- Results of our research on the Effects of Climate Change on the Phenology of Carabid Beetles in Drenthe were presented on the 23th of March 2007 at Assen. This is a research that is being executed by our foundation and Wageningen University with the longest long term continuous dataset of the world, of 46 years and over half a million beetles, from the foundation and the former Biological Station Wijster. - The 14th European: Carabidologist Meeting 2009 will be organized by the Foundation WBBS and shall be a celebration of long term monitoring and the use of pitfall traps: carabid beetles as bioindicators of environmental quality. There will of course also be enough time and space to discuss many other ecological, systematical and biogeographical topics. This meeting will mark the 50 year anniversary of long term research in the Dwingelderveld and the 40th anniversary of the first Carabidologist Meeting in Wijster, 1969. We will try to invite as many people as possible that were present at the first meeting, but also from the other more earlier meetings. A reprint of the proceedings of this first meeting will be considered, when enough interest appears to be.
